I can not believe it is already that time of year! It’s crazy how fast 5 months can fly by and how much I have accomplished in that short time. As I approach graduation in a few days it is important to look back on the work that I have done this semester and what all I have learned to take with me. Multimedia production allowed me to learn many new skills that I had not learned previously and I hope to use it all in the future.
The first and most important thing is that I got to create a blog! Like I mentioned in my first post, I hope to continue using this blog to post future work that I do and it is such a helpful tool to have. I don’t think I would have ever created a blog without this class and I am so happy that I did. I love being creative with my work and content creation is something that I love. Through my social media internship with athletics, I have been able to learn a lot about producing certain pictures and videos but this class helped me take it to another level.
My least favorite post was the web story. I do not like writing journal articles very much and I feel that I could have been more creative with it but did not take that option. It is harder for me to write in a journalistic style and it is challenging going out and conducting interviews.
My favorite post was the photojournalism or the social media critique. It was fun being able to put a story to my photos and I would like to continue working on photography skills, especially in sports. I also loved the social media critique because I would like to go into a social media career in sports. I have been able to experiment with some more photojournalism techniques when taking photos at the spring football game this year and I loved how some of my photos turned out.
Overall I really enjoyed every project that I did and I definitely want to start taking more pictures and also try making some more videos of my own. I loved being able to think creatively and having the freedom of developing more personalized posts. I came across a lot of situation where I had to think critically about what I needed to do and how to work something but it taught me to get out of my comfort zone and experiment with some new things.
